12V to 5V Usb hub
thingiverse
I built this USB hub to power devices in the back of my camper using a 12-volt battery, and also to have a display to show how many volts the battery has, so I know when it's full or empty. I used an old hard disk case for the enclosure because it's sturdier and comes with a port that I could already use. However, if you don't have a suitable case available, I've also included a printable alternative. Instructions The supplied parts are: A XL4015 step-down converter to transform the voltage from 12 volts to 5 volts using a potentiometer A rocker on/off switch A "mini panel voltage meter" connected directly to the battery via the switch And two scavenged USB ports taken from an old TFT screen; these can be swapped for regular USB ports that have been joined together.
