12v Plug adapter for benchtop power supply
thingiverse
This adapter will convert a marine-grade 12-volt plug to fit a bench-top power supply, allowing me to test 12-volt car adapter circuits without entering my vehicle. Originally, I planned to integrate the 12-volt plug directly into my power supply but ran out of space, so an external adapter with extra cord was designed. The marine-grade 12-volt plug used in this project is available on Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G3ZPYPC. After Printing To complete the adapter, I used 18-gauge wire for the leads and banana plugs as connectors. I soldered the wires to the plug and then inserted it into the sleeve, which requires using long pliers or similar tools to secure the nut properly. Next, I fed the wires through the cap, leaving a little slack in the sleeve before securing them with a zip tie to prevent the wires from being pulled through. To seal the cap, I applied glue – specifically an ABS/Acetone slurry in my case – and then attached the banana plugs.
