I was messing around with some leftover e-cig mod parts and got to thinking about building a mod powered by my car's 12-volt accessory port. This design is super straightforward and essentially cost-free. Instructions Parts Needed: LM2596 step-down converter 10k ohm potentiometer 12v car accessory plug Momentary push button, 12mm diameter Voltage readout display 510 e-cig connector I swapped out the LM2596's built-in pot for a knob-style one so it'd be easier to adjust voltage. I also threw some Kapton tape between the two parts to prevent shorting. The car accessory plug features a five-amp fuse. Apart from that, the build process is pretty intuitive.
