12V DC Motor Turbine
thingiverse
This turbine comprises of three parts: the turbine itself, adapted from a Thingiverse design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:13188), and a case consisting of a bottom part with motor holder and a top part that covers the turbine. Despite using a small 12V DC Motor, it operates efficiently and powerfully. To assemble, print the "Turbine 2.STL" file with high quality, and cover parts (files "Turbine Cover (Top).STL" and "Turbine Cover (Bottom).STL") with a wall thickness of 0.8 mm using normal or high quality settings. In the top part of the cover, remove the thin wall inside needed for surface formation without support structures; this can be done with a paper knife. Assemble the cover using M3x9 (or M3x12) bolts and nuts. The turbine connects to a motor adapter via a single M4x30 bolt, and a 25-32 mm tension band handles the motor inside the bottom part of the cover. Additionally, an attached motor adapter file ("Motor Gear Connector (Sliced) - 2.STL") is provided, which requires two M3x16 bolts and nuts for assembly and includes a single M4 nut for turbine connection. The top cover fits a 30mm pipe adapter designed here (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:39745) and is intended for use with this adapter. Note that some .STL files may require flipping Y-Z planes to ensure correct placement on the printing table. Enjoy!
