thingiverse
I tried to make a battery tray/wall mount bracket for 12V SLA 12ah batteries. This started as a shelf bracket. I need to add the screw holes for mounting. It is a work in progress. I have a mounting shelf with no screw holes and no retaining lip for a battery. This was my first attempt at remixing this shelf bracket. Its files are 12ah_Battery Bracket.stl or cad By trial and error, I did manage to move the screw holes and add additional ones. The files with screw holes are 12ah_Battery Bracket_screwholes.stl or cad I watched a video on OpenSCAD and made a very simple lip for battery retention. I am unsure if this is done correctly in my modeling it looks very crudely slapped onto the front because well it was. I am unsure how to merge or combine it as a solid piece. I may try to print this one to see how it turns out. I welcome any feedback. I have 8 of these batteries that I would like to try and mount on my wall. I wish I knew how to remove a small triangle from each end to save some print time and material. I know this will be stronger but will likely be overkill. these files are called 12ah_Battery Bracket_screwholes_lip.stl or cad I cleaned up the code as best I could and here is the version I plan to print later this day. 12ah_Battery Bracket_screwholes_lip_v2.stl or cad I had to stop mid print as I got the size slightly wrong. This version will fit a 12ah battery but I am not sure how strong it will be. I made the walls 5 layers thick and think it would have been better at 8. I will create a new V5 when I get a chance and do a test print. 12ah_Battery Bracket_screwholes_lip_v4.stl or cad Hope someone will find this useful.
