This is a combination adapter sleeve and washer designed specifically for fitting M4 bolts snugly into 12mm rod mounts available from Aliexpress. These adapters can be used in conjunction with Thingiverse's design #1257251 to attach aluminium 12mm linear rail rod clamps. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.2mm layer or better Notes: To ensure solid prints, I used a 2mm shell configuration. I printed the adapters at a slow pace and in batches of eight to prevent melting from rapid layer formation. A brim was used primarily as a carrier to keep unused adapters from getting lost, although it's not necessary for them to stay attached to the bed. The adapters were printed using ABS on acetone/ABS slurry on borosilicate glass, with a bed temperature of 110C and an extruder temperature of 255C. The used ABS is rated for temperatures between 220C and 260C, resulting in excellent layer bonding when printed at higher temperatures. Design Process: The design was created using OpenSCAD and the MCAD/polyholes.scad library to accurately measure the bolt hole's size. I measured all dimensions using a digital vernier caliper. The taper is intended to mirror the chamfered edge of the 12mm aluminium rod clamp's hole.
