I upgraded my Anet A8 by swapping out the board for a RAMPS board that boasts a 12864 Smart LCD screen. However, I soon realized that the screen's ribbon cables were woefully short, so I opted to keep them brief and tuck the screen snugly in front of and beside the printer. This ingenious housing and back plate not only cradle the screen but also provide unhindered access to all buttons - including the kill switch - and enable effortless SD card insertion through the side panel. The screen is securely fastened into its housing with a quartet of small screws, while the back plate simply slides into place and clicks snugly in via friction fit.
