127 Film Negative Carrier
thingiverse
I had been shooting some 127 size negatives, and discovered that when I wanted to scan them, I didn't have a negative carrier for this size available. I use an Epson 4990, which came with a 120 size negative holder that wasn't ideal for the 127 film. The 127 could be "sort of" clipped into this holder, but it was far from perfect. The negative would not sit properly in the holder if it had any curl. My goal was to create an adapter that would drop into the window of the 120 carrier and securely hold the narrower 127 film in place at the right height above the glass. There are two pieces to this adapter: a lower part that drops into the opening of the 120 holder and sits on the glass, and a top part that is placed on the negative. The snap-down cover on the existing holder then clamps the top piece by using small tabs. The photos show how it works: 1) The 127 negative in the 120 carrier without an adapter. 2) The bottom adapter in place with the 127 negative on top. 3) The top part in place with the cover shut. By adapting my existing holder, I didn't have to print a new large negative carrier. Instead, I created a quick and effective solution that prints in about 1/2 hour and does the job great.
