We've been diving into math and basic arithmetic with them lately, using traditional flashcards and coins. Despite our efforts, they're still struggling to visualize numbers effectively, so I decided to create a simple set of counters that could double as games and number-based play before bedtime. The 100-square grid is 150mm by 150mm in size, making it more practical to print with PLA than ABS plastic. To ensure the best results, I'll also experiment with the 'Brim' setting suggested by Idolcrasher (bit.ly/KfkAH0). For added visual appeal, I plan to add a layer of contrasting color to the final solid printed surface, making the numbers stand out even more.
