As of September, the building at 122 Leadenhall Street has been cleared for demolition to make way for the newly proposed 224-meter-tall skyscraper known as the Leadenhall Building. A unique approach is being used by McGee for its teardown, one that has led to an extraordinary sight of a seemingly levitating structure due in part to its construction process. Top-down development allows for central support through a core, enabling a cantilever design at the crown to support adjacent floors positioned beneath it; this method necessitates demolishing the bottom-most floors and progressing upwards. Adding an element of difficulty is the original purpose of this building - that of housing bank vaults with reinforced concrete walls sometimes exceeding 1.5 meters in thickness, capable of keeping even Michael Caine from accessing them for any reason. Presently, the structure remains at its initial height of 54 meters.
