120mm Inline Fan connector with cartridge holder

I had a standard inline bathroom fan and wanted to add a carbon filter for my SLA printer along with some ducting. I decided to make my own active carbon filter cartridge holder and cartridges since they are relatively cheap. To assemble the holder, I chose a suitable box that could accommodate either 100mm round flexible conduit or 55x110 square conduit. I attached it to the base using 4x20 wood screws. To create a seal, I applied regular painter's tape around the edge of the box. Given that my inline fan had an outer diameter of 120mm, I designed an adapter ring accordingly. You may need to create your own custom adapter ring based on your fan's dimensions. The adapter ring is simply attached to the cartridge holder body using CA glue. I made two types of cartridges: one for a single layer of active carbon filter mat and another with a built-in 10mm spacer for two layers of mat. Each cartridge holds 10mm thick active carbon filter mats, cut to size.
