120mm Fume Extractor

120mm Fume Extractor

I was determined to master Fusion 360 late one night and decided I wanted to create something to print on my day off. I aimed to make it simplistic, yet practical. Having a surplus of parts from RadioShack's going out of business sale and some leftover items from other projects at hand, I chose to build a fume extractor using a 120mm fan. It may not be elegant or visually appealing, but it functions remarkably well. The one I designed employs a USB cable for use with a phone charger or a battery pack. Do not plug it into your PC's USB ports! A boost converter helps bring the voltage up to 12v. The filter is positioned between a bracket and the face plate. Another bracket is printed for the back to prevent the fan from touching the counter. I'm including the .f3d file for anyone who wants to adjust the brackets and face plate for their own use or correct my mistakes. Also, I apologize for the cluttered workbench in the picture. I really need to clean up...
