120mm Fan to 100mm Duct with 12mm Magnets for attachment
thingiverse
I have a 120mm fan in my window which works as both an extractor fan while soldering, and generally helps ventilation in my rather stuffy room. However I don't want to block the rest of the window up, and when using it as an extractor, a large amount of the exhausted air blows straight back inside. In addition i'm in a rented house so I cant make any permanent modifications to the window, which is covered with fly-screen. So I came up with this. Superglue a 12mm diameter magnet in each of the 4 holes on the bottom of this duct, then put a screw in each corner of the fan, hold it up to the fly-screen, and put this duct on the outside. The magnets will attach to the screws and hold both the fan and the duct in place, and you can then use standard 100mm air conditioning duct to direct the air well away from the window. Printer Settings: Printer: Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 10% Notes: Very easy print. Should not require any support, raft or brim. Corners are rounded both for aesthetics and to reduce warping. Bridging over the magnet holes should be easy for most printers, and at worst may need a quick touch up with a dremel to help the magnets sit flush.
