120mm fan for S-400-12 power supply
cults3d
The loud fan on my power supply was a real nuisance, so I took matters into my own hands and removed it entirely, along with the cover of the power supply as well. Next, I designed a brand new cover for it, one that would make room for a 120mm fan that I happened to have lying around. I connected this fan directly to the 12V output of the power supply, which allows it to run at a constant speed - a big improvement over its previous noisy performance. And as an added bonus, the new setup provides much better airflow than before. To ensure everything fit together properly, I mounted the new fan in exactly the same way that the original one was installed, so it blows air out just like it's supposed to. If you're looking to replicate this setup for yourself, here are a few things you'll need: * 10 M3 nuts * 10 M3 screws that are 8mm long One thing to keep in mind is that the entire assembly comes in at a length of 197.5 mm.
