120mm Fan Blast Gate

120mm Fan Blast Gate

prusaprinters

A hand-operated blast gate for a 120mm fan. I used it to create an option for ventilation to the cabinet that I run my printer in, as it was getting too hot for PLA. I still want the option to “close” the cabinet to helpt with the heating for other materials. All parts need to be oriented to be flat on the bad. Top and gate print without supports. Base needs standard supports for the bottom holes. All parts can fit on a Creality K1 Max bed.Can be mounted in various configurations:Blast gate outside and fan inside (see pictures)Fan outside and blast gate insideFan and blast gate on the same side, mounted on top of one anotherShould be printed in PETG if possible. I printed all parts in Extrudr PLA NX2 blue steel because I mounted the blast gate on the outside of the cabinet where I don't expect high temperatures. The fan can be used as a template for the 4 mounting holes. I drilled a 110mm hole in the center of these using an adjustable wood hole saw.The gate can be completely assembled before being mounted.Hardware needed (for mounting on a board with 18mm thickness, assuming 25mm fan thickness):120mm fan4x M4x50mm screw (not countersunk, longer for thicker boards)4x M4 nut4x M3x10mm screw (not countersunk)4x M3 nut
