This design is a fresh approach for a 120mm Single Stage EDF, crafted to be robust. To upgrade the turbine design, the air foil shape is adopted for the fins. Post-Printing post process No cleaning up was done. If available, vibratory tumblers should be used to roll the model for several hours to minimize ribbing. Project: 120MM EDF The objective is a modular 120mm sized EDF that allows customizable fan blade changes to test more efficient fan profiles. Recommended audiences are high school level and above; interest in engineering and/or flight enhances understanding. Preparation Prior knowledge of EDF or minimal research would be beneficial; RC class electric motors knowledge recommended. Steps I studied EDF designs from photographs. I noted that the ones I found used a straight, contoured fin rather than an air foil, along with constant angles of attack. Fins attach to cores that are too large, so a new design was needed. With these findings in mind, I designed MY own with only a single straight Airfoil. After modifying and testing it 4 times, I reached a suitable final blade assembly, satisfied with the efficiency boost. Results: The constructed model works well with excellent fit and balance; more powerful motors or stators to redirect airflow could help reach desired RPMs. Despite initial lower-than-expected performance from the RC370 motor, air moves at moderate speeds under 4500RPM, suggesting further tweaks to enhance efficiency and performance by aiming for the 4.5-10K RPM range for ultimate thrust achievement
