12 Piece Desk Puzzle

I've had this wooden puzzle cube on my coffee table for years. Today, I decided to make a similar version but with some added embellishments. I designed mine with shorter end pieces, making the overall assembled puzzle more compact than the original wood puzzle seen in the photo above. You'll need to print 12 of the pieces to make the puzzle. For assembly instructions, refer to this: https://woodgears.ca/puzzles/12-piece.html It's not identical, but the steps are exactly the same up to the way the last piece fits. This is because in his version, the cutouts on his blocks are all 100mm long, divided into five 20mm sections. Mine has three 25mm sections in the middle and the end "caps" are 5mm. It's close enough to enable you to solve the puzzle. The piece is designed with a .5mm clearance on each mating face to allow for print dimension inaccuracy and ease of assembly. Edit: Version 3 - shortened the ends, made the recesses a bit more shallow. Edit: Version 4 - attempted putting a fillet on the edges, which turned out really badly - too many gaps between the pieces, so I scrapped version 4. Edit: Version 5 - increased clearance on all sides from .2mm to .5mm, redesigned the recesses, and made the ends slightly thicker to help with bed adhesion due to version 3 and version 4's ends curling up. Make sure you use supports so the bottom recess prints correctly!
