12" Miter Saw blade bushing (HFT/Northern Tool)
thingiverse
I recently uploaded a design for the least useful thing on Thingiverse - a bushing. If you're like me, it might save some time. I bought a budget-friendly 12" double bevel sliding compound miter saw at HFT and two blades that they conveniently displayed together. After unboxing the saw to use it, I discovered it had a 5/8" arbor, while all the blades were 1" arbor size. To avoid risking manual blade centering and ending up with an ugly result like an old truck bouncing down a dirt road, I decided to print a bushing until my "proper" metal bushing arrived. This bushing fit perfectly on the first try (a pleasant surprise), securely holding onto the arbor and allowing the blade to slide over it easily. The whole process of changing blades became much easier as a result. My 0.4 nozzle was set for precise print tolerances, I printed in HTPLA at 100% concentric infill, and so far everything seems to be working fine after more than 100 cuts (no signs of wear or degradation).
