12 gauge shotgun shell crimp cutter
thingiverse
This tool is designed for cutting crimp out of shotgun shells, allowing reloaders to convert cheap birdshot into more effective slugs. A slot in the rear accepts a #1 Exacto knife blade, which must be inserted one way due to tight tolerances that demand some effort. Version 1 boasts a smaller hole with minimal tolerance, producing a cut closer to the shell's edge and removing more crimp material. Version 2 features a larger hole, making it easier to use right from the start but potentially leaving the lip of the crimp intact, similar to a roll crimp. Currently, neither version provides an easy method for replacing the knife if it becomes dull or breaks. Print Settings Notes: - Print with the shell hole facing upwards to prevent overhang.
