Experimental archaeologist Caroline Jeffra crafts a pot using traditional wheel-throwing techniques, resulting in a distinctive and authentic artifact. Archaeologist Kelly Papastergiou utilizes a DAVID SLS-3 structured light scanner to meticulously record the object's intricate details through 3D scanning. A native camera on the DAVID device captures the texture of the pot with remarkable precision. The original scan resolution reaches an impressive 0.0642mm, equivalent to a dense vertex spacing. After processing, the OBJ file is significantly reduced from its initial 4.43GB size to a more manageable 188MB, comprising 607,726 vertices for online publication.
