Deep within the forest's dense underbrush, a weathered wooden cabin stood almost hidden from view, its creaky roofline barely visible above the treetops. Yet, it was the stout stovepipe protruding awkwardly from the side of the hut that gave away their presence to any keen observer. The harsh winter nights had grown increasingly chilly, and since the forest dragon had taken up residence beneath a nearby tree, laying an egg in its nest, venturing out became a daunting task. Come summer's warmth, their troubles would subside, but for now, they remained vigilant, watching over the distant northern frontier as the high elves had entrusted to them. Though few had visited this outpost in many years, those stationed within the cabin stood ready to sound the alarm at the first sign of approaching danger.
