11th Doctor's Sonic Screwdriver
thingiverse
Hello! This is a custom-made sonic screwdriver designed for a 3D printing elective, and I'm really proud of how it turned out. The design process began in Tinkercad, where I brought the idea to life. To print it, I had to get creative - I printed it without any rafts and on its side, which was a bit tricky, but worth it in the end. Please be gentle with this little guy, as it's a bit fragile. Don't even think about tossing it across the room or slamming it into the wall, or you'll likely snap it in two. I've already had to make some adjustments - in version 2, I fixed a critical issue that was holding everything together by mere force of will. As it turns out, I had left a gap between the top and bottom parts, which meant that all the structural integrity was relying on a single support beam. So, I merged those two parts together, and now we're good to go. This sonic screwdriver is a replica of the 11th Doctor's trusty sidekick, and I'm thrilled to share it with you. I had an absolute blast modeling this thing - it's been a real challenge, but also incredibly rewarding. Now, I hope you have as much fun playing with it as I did designing it!
