The tool features two nearly identical arms with rectangular cross-sections, each sharpened at the ends. The socket is oval and situated in the center where the body thickens slightly. A distinctive mark resembling the Greek letter "psi" was carved into one side near the eye, possibly indicating the craftsman or workshop owner's signature. This hammer likely originated from a jeweler's workshop in Sarmizegetusa Regia, the capital of the Dacian kingdom. Found at Grădiştea de Munte – Sarmizegetusa Regia in Orăştioara, Hunedoara county, this artifact measures 13.5 cm in length and 3 cm in width. Constructed from iron using hot forging techniques, its historical significance dates back to the 1st century AD to the early 2nd century AD. This object falls within the Late Iron Age (Dacian) period. A team from Technical University of Cluj-Napoca employed 3D laser scanning to digitize this artifact. The National Museum of Transylvanian History in Cluj-Napoca provided access to the data.
