114mm adapter for clamp-on Matteboxes

This adapter is meant to build your own stepper ring for use with 114mm clamp-on Mattebox, like the smallRig 2660 or my very own Kompi v3 (https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/tool/kompi-v3-the-3d-printable-clamp-on-mattebox) smallRig bundles a few adapter rings for various lens-sizes; even 95mm can be purchased optionally. However, there is no 86mm version and as of early January 2021 they have no plans to. This is why I decided to make my own adapter. As a base, you need a step-up ring to 95mm; I used an 86-95 stepper to compliment my Rectilux Hardcore DNA, but you can choose any base-size. This stepper ring then gets glued to this printed part. Just like the smarllRig rings, the 3D print will wrap "backwards" around the front of the lens, reducing possible vignette from the mattebox. Other than usual with these rings, the 95mm threads are still exposed and can be used; e.g. for ND-Faders or something as mundane as a lens cap, so you don't have to unscrew the ring every time you pack things up :) I recommend epoxy for glueing these together (I use UHU Endfest). Make sure to roughen up the stepper ring as well as the 3D printed part to give the glue more grip. If you need a more professional, heavy-duty version for 86mm, I wholeheartedly recommend RafCamera: https://rafcamera.com/adapter-m86x0-75m-to-114mm
