NEW Complete Aircraft https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2337232 I have uploaded the aircraft fuselage http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2145201 Complete Clark-y airfoil wing for simple high-wing trainer. Eventually, this will be the wing for an 1133mm span (1050mm + 80mm center + 3mm for tips) 200mm chord + 35mm ailerons, "ugly" stick that will be mostly 3D printed, the fuselage is designed and after some test prints I will post it as well. This is the follow-up to the first revision at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2022750 Servo mounts and control horns have been added, center section internal structure has been completely re-done. This wing prints differently than most others I have seen, in slic3r I set it to print at 100% infill, one perimeter, no top or bottom layers & no supports. These settings seem to work well with a .35mm tip on my Prusa i3 with PLA. I have NOT printed the complete wing as of yet, only tests. I have uploaded my original 123D design files and a complete set of .stl files. For design information and a small test section please see http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1994231 Printing instructions for the wing tips, ailerons and servo mounts: Wing tips are printed flat. Ailerons print with either 2 or 3 perimeters & 20 - 30% honeycomb infill. Servo mounts printed @ 100% infill (designed to fit Tower Pro MG90S servos). Aileron hinge pins are 2mm x 20mm long music wire or carbon fiber, use CA glue to attach aileron segments together. Leading and trailing edge joiner pins 3mm or 1/8th x 20mm long music wire or carbon fiber. Center spar, 10mm Carbon fiber or wood dowel, it should be 480mm to 550mm long or longer, it needs to go at minimum through the center and 2 inner panels, and 25mm into left & right center panels. Outer wing joiner (spar location) 10 mm x 25 to 50mm long. Wing panels are joined with CA glue. The servo wire joiner tubes are just CA glued to one side (center section or inner wing panel). Note: the spar and joiner pin holes may need to be drilled or filed out slightly depending on your printer. Software used for this design, 123D Design & Inkscape.
