In Update 3, the 3D scanner turned out to be disappointing as the dimensions of the scanned objects were inaccurate. Despite rebuilding the cradle, it still wasn't accurate. Frustrated with the reverse engineering process, the user decided to work on a similar and functional part instead. Some parts are yet to be connected, and there might be tweaks needed later. Update 2 highlights the difficulty experienced while dimensioning a casted part without any reference points. The user tried converting an XBOX Kinect into a 3D scanner, but faced issues with Solidworks loading the scan. Converting a point cloud into a model was a slow process and caused the CAD program to malfunction. In the first update, the user added small attachments to the Arbor and questioned the saw blade's orientation. The rusted table saw, found for free by the user's wife, was cleaned, painted, and modeled. The user aimed to create a model of the shaft to replace the damaged original part. As-Building advice is sought. Lastly, the user had to configure atypical bearings in the toolbox, which were difficult to find.
