110 Film Holder for Plustek OpticFilm Scanner
thingiverse
NEW: Customize your 110 film holder with ease! Adjust its size and frame dimensions to fit almost any type of film. Do you have vintage strips from the 1970s and 1980s pocket cameras that still need scanning? Combine them with a Plustek OpticFilm scanner for a seamless experience. Simply place the film strip into the holder, cover it up, and scan away! Two versions are available: a solid one and a light struts model that saves on material. The customizer lets you swap out the design for other film types as needed. To minimize scatter from the scanner's lamp, try using black filament. Design Details I'm not entirely satisfied with my creation. Film strips tend to shift within the holder, which is why I'm considering adding registration pins to secure them in place. The edge notches might be a bit too wide, and the holder doesn't perfectly center itself within the frame. This means minor adjustments may be necessary for each scan. I encountered some issues with pillowing during printing. A 20% infill led to poor results, but switching to 24% yielded acceptable prints. Despite these challenges, my small batch of film strips was scanned successfully using this holder. If you're planning a larger project, you might want to tweak the design slightly. The SCAD source code is included for remixing purposes.
