Featured In These YouTube Videos: - Backdriving https://youtu.be/SjBvAlcmbYQ Print Settings! You must use supports to print all of these parts, it was really unavoidable. If you wish to back-drive this, you'll need to use at least 0.05 horizontal expansion setting This Looks Familiar! This gearbox is the same size as the ones used in my first robotic arm project! I have never tested it in that project, and there isn't even a sun gear with the right size hole for a NEMA 17 motor, but someday I will get to that. Assembly Assembly instructions for a very similar gearbox can be found here: https://youtu.be/1DNgqtoJMdk?t=29m13s Aligning the gears with the marks is super important! Placing the gears face up on a table, sort the planet gears in order (1-4) as shown in the main picture and video, insert sun gears, wrap the planets around the sun gears in the correct order, Snap Ring gear #1 on. Align all gears with the marks as shown in the video, then put the rest of the ring gears on. You will need to close the gap in the rings before you spin this gearset or else it could skip teeth and get out of alignment, for this i have included the ring closures, that fits over all the rings How it Works Ring Gears #1 & #3 will be at the same potential and Ring Gears #2 & (Optional #4) will be at the same potential The use of Ring Gear #4, the 4 Module Planet Gears, and Sun Gear #4 is optional and used to increase the amount of torque this gearbox can transfer, as well as to decrease the amount of load on each gear, think of it like a door hinge. Other Important Info: CAD Files??? I Included the Fusion 360 Project with this, But the most recent version of this project can be downloaded in lots of different formats from this link: http://a360.co/2A2nLBL Feel free to create your own modifications and parts for this project, and if you do, make sure you create a remix and upload them, then I'll add them to my main collection so the whole community can share them! Thanks!
