Experimental archaeologist Caroline Jeffra crafts a pot using the wheel-throwing technique, creating an authentic ancient vessel. Archaeologist Kelly Papastergiou utilizes the DAVID SLS-3 structured light scanner to capture 3D scans of the pot with incredible precision. The native DAVID-camera records every texture detail with stunning accuracy. The original 3D model boasts a staggering resolution of 0.0623mm, comprising an impressive 24535569 vertices that equate to a massive file size of 1.50GB. To make it more accessible for online sharing, the model is carefully decimated down to 551828 vertices and condensed into a much smaller file size of just 169MB.
