This isn't much of an upgrade as much as it is just adding passages for the wiring. I needed this for a disguise but didn't notice it required some adjustments to make it functional, so I added a hole in the transmitter for a wire to fit through and then a small slit in the bulb/tip to fit a tiny LED into. This will enable you to run wiring down to the base and add a power source/switch. I simply use three wristwatch batteries attached to a push button and shoved it all into the grip.
