10t XL Pulley for SAE Prusa Mendel
thingiverse
The Prusa repository's STL generation doesn't account for T5 belt (5mm) conversion to XL belt (0.20") in SAE versions. Although it may seem functional due to similar pitches, the tooth-to-space ratio varies causing backlash when reversing. A 10t XL gear variant is sold by Rick at MakerGear, but his STL had printing issues for me as grooves filled up. This design is derived from a Thingiverse SCAD source with 25% deeper belt teeth grooves. Print two pulleys, drill the hub to 5mm, insert an M3 nut in the base, and recalculate X/Y_STEPS_PER_MM as 200 steps/rotation, 8 microsteps/step, considering 0.2" belt with 10 teeth per rotation for accurate movement calculations. Rick's STL is on GitHub.
