10cm PC speakers ============== My 8 year old son asked me to build him something from old 10cm speakers we salvaged from an old condemned renault twingo our local fire brigade used for rescue exercise. Since son's computer only has very low quality buillt in speaker I decided to build him nice set of pc spekers. First step was to build simple amplifier and test the speakers. I had few TPA1517NE chips from previous projects so that's what I used. It's very simple to build and needs only few external components. Next step was to design some sort of mount to attach the speakers. I used M4 screws for this. After this I designed the enclosure. I used plastic M3 bolts to attach the speaker mount from the bottom and to be used as some sort of feet. At the top I used small screws to attach the speaker mount to the enclosure from inside. I found it quite quite difficult to use the screws so I just used some glue for the second speaker. Backs are different for left and right speaker since one of the speakers is used for housing amplifier and audio and power input. I used M3 bolts for attaching backs to enclosure. I used transparent petg for enclosure and back so when the speakers are powered on there is a nice red light effect. For the grille I used this cool thing scaled to 104mm: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3017922 but you can use any grille you like.
