105mm Howitzer Shell M1
thingiverse
Fellow Redlegs will appreciate this instructible on finishing your 3D printed 105mm artillery shell piggy bank. I set out to create a realistic 105mm howitzer shell because I had access to a spent 105mm casing, and as an Artilleryman, it was a challenge that needed to be met. After scouring the web for plans, I realized they didn't exist, so I took matters into my own hands. It took about eight hours and six cups of coffee to complete the project, but the results are impressive. I will post completed pictures as soon as possible. You'll need three components: a 105mm shell, a 105mm fuze with wrench slots, and an optional 105mm fuze without wrench slots. To paint the shell, you'll also need a stencil. I'm currently printing the fuze, and it's taking some time to get the round printed due to waiting on Olive Drab PLA.
