1010011011 Diffraction Mask
thingiverse
This Mask Thingy has 10 degree and 13 degree diffraction in both directions creating two almost similar X's the pattern is repeated every 120 degrees and should be placed on the telescope the way the collimation screws are oriented on the secondary mirror. Don't even try to check the SolidWorks 2020 part, because This is every other mask I have made in it. I deleted some features, because of a mistake I made very early in the process. As you might know other stuff will need this, but I just deleted it without thinking. I should have kept the wrong sketches and added the correct once. So ending up with a broken part and even a crash of the program itself, this is the result... (In this case it might be a good thing to export a DWG and build the thing froms scratch). The 1010011011 Celestron 8SE Mask will give you a way to focus and if you 2 of the 3 120 degree grating sets, you can check your focus and refine your collimation. I made a Thingy that I still haven't uploaded, where I aim a laser at a dichomatic mirror, so a part will be reflected and a part will pass through the mirror, giving me the change to get a near perfect allignment of an SCT during the day !!! Enjoy :-) UPDATE: I forgot the nodge on one end and deleted all previous files. It will also work.
