This guide covers my first rail designs for both mid-power and high power rockets. These rails are conformal, designed to fit snugly into 38mm airframe rocketry tubing. Specifically, they will work seamlessly with the 1010 size of 8020 aluminum extrusion rail. There are five core versions of these rails, each with three unique lengths that can be glued onto your chosen design. The short length measures 25.4mm or one inch in total height. The medium length comes in at a slightly taller 38.1mm, which is equivalent to one and a half inches. Lastly, the long version reaches an impressive 50.8mm, a full two inches tall. For optimal results, it's recommended that your print features a solid infill of 100%. When selecting filament for these designs, you'll want to choose materials tailored to your specific rocket motor size. For E-F motors, a reliable choice is PLA filament. If you're working with G-H motors, PETG is the way to go. And for I-J motors, ABS provides an ideal combination of strength and durability.
