100mmHornet Quad Frame - 75x Conversion
thingiverse
I built this frame after destroying a Carbon Fiber frame on its first flight. It was an exhilarating experience until I crashed and suffered significant damage, at $25 AU per unit it had become too expensive to continue, so I needed a more affordable option. It has taken months of designing and numerous test frames but I am now satisfied with the result. It features easy USB access and my BetaFPV 1103 motors fit perfectly with the FC installed correctly from the start. This eliminates the need to configure the FC in an upside-down position or extend motor wires, making assembly much simpler. The frame is quite rigid due to its construction using PLA+ and PETG, weighing approximately 10.5 grams depending on the printing material used. My entire build weighs about 43 grams without the battery. You will notice that there are small slits where the motor screws are located; I deliberately designed this feature to force the wall layers to run parallel to each other, increasing strength in areas prone to breakage such as the arms. Despite being subjected to heavy loads, it has yet to show any signs of failure. To secure the battery pad, you will need to use supports. I used sticky rubber and a hair tie for the battery; first, feed the hair tie over the clip and then run it under the FC and around the bottom before mounting the FC. Alternatively, you can install the hair tie after installing the FC but it is more convenient to do so beforehand. Parts: BetaFPV 1103 1100kv 75X motors or any 1103 model will work perfectly BetaFPV AIO F4 2s FC or Crazybee F4 pro Caddx Firefly VTX and Camera or Caddx Eos 2 or Runcam Nano with TBS Nano unify HQ 65mm props M2 screws; I also printed spacers out of PLAFlex for the nuts.
