100mm tube (drain, PVC) closing grill
thingiverse
I'm working on a rainwater drainage project in my garden and the end of the tube is simply above ground, open. To prevent anything from getting inside the tube and clogging it, I would need some kind of grill-like closure that lets water out but keeps everything else out. So I designed a simple grill to close the end of the drainpipe. It took approximately 1.5 hours to design in Fusion 360. The grill fits any 100 mm outer diameter pipe (PVC or drain pipe). As there can be slight size variations, I didn't make it a tight fit, but instead included four small wings/arms with holes so you can use small screws to hold the grill in place. I've included two versions: one is 3 mm thick and the other is only 2 mm. I printed the 2 mm version and it took 2.5 hours. The predicted printing time for the 3mm version is 3.5 hours according to Cura. No support is necessary, but I used brim anyway (it might not be needed).
