100mm Omni Wheel
thingiverse
I was not satisfied with the commercially available omni wheel, so I designed it from scratch using my own expertise and creativity. The wheels used were standard products that could be easily sourced. As strength is sufficient, I believe this design can outperform the commercially sold omni wheel in many ways. It's a serious piece of machinery, not a toy for children to play with. To assemble this device, you will need the following essential components: • A Hammer Caster 425G-R25, which requires some drilling to prepare it for use. For those who struggle to get this caster, I've prepared an alternative called wheel_F. It's a temporary substitute that can be used in its place. • Parallel pins made of SUS303 with a 5Φ diameter and 24mm length are required. While a 4.5 mm shaft would also work, it may be difficult to source one. The design was originally based on a 5 mm shaft. • You will need numerous 3 mm screws to complete the assembly. For those adventurous individuals who insist on using only 3D printed parts, I've included data for eight toy shafts that can be used as an alternative. Spring pins are highly recommended as a substitute for parallel pins. They are inexpensive and require no modification of the caster, making them a convenient choice.
