One piece extruder E-step calibration tools for both 1.75mm and 3mm filament diameters are available. These tools feature a 100mm length with graduation marks every 5mm/10mm. A sinusoidal tilt on the tunnel securely holds the filament in place while calibrating, allowing the tool to be attached without unloading the extruder. Slide the feet on, then bend the filament slightly to follow the slot. This tool can be attached with one hand after some practice. It should spin freely on the filament. Deep notches are located at each end for marking the filament (use an ultra fine point Sharpie). The mark is clearly visible at the bottom. The design relies on a printer capable of producing clean 45-degree overhangs. Since my printer does not use 3mm filament, the tolerance is estimated based on the 1.75mm version. Print Settings Printer: Maker Select Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 10% Notes: I printed this in PLA with a 95% extrusion multiplier, which provides the best dimensional accuracy.
