I designed the calipers on Tinkercad with 1mm increments for precise measurements. The 5mm marks are indicated by longer lines, and tens are represented by single digits to streamline printing time and detail - for example, 10 is marked as '1', 20 as '2', and so forth. These markings apply only to outside dimensions. The center of each dash represents the actual unit measurement, with dashes being 0.5mm wide. When using the caliper, holding it in your right hand with numbers facing up, lining up the slide with the left edge of the 10mm dash will yield a measurement of 9.75mm; the center of that dash corresponds to 10mm, and the right edge represents 10.25mm. While they may not match the accuracy of commercial calipers, these DIY tools should serve as a reliable reference for quick measurements in situations like finding bolt sizes or similar applications. Please note that I haven't tested these calipers yet. If you print one before I do, please leave a comment about any adjustments you'd like to see.
