100hex mosaic assembly

thingiverse

This design enables seamless creation and assembly of mosaics, tailored specifically to accommodate tiles from the 100hex project found on Thingiverse under https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2477471. The Holder.stl file features a strategically placed cutout in the back that facilitates hanging it on the wall using a nail. The other panels are designed to connect effortlessly, allowing for a complete mosaic to be hung with minimal fuss and damage to the wall (requiring only two nails). A 0.2mm gap is intentionally left between each tile and panel, ensuring a snug friction fit. However, if your printer is exceptionally calibrated, you may need to adjust the scale of the tiles slightly to guarantee secure attachment. Notably, the distance between grooves and tabs is set at 0.4mm, as an initial attempt with 0.2mm proved too restrictive for assembly purposes. It's essential to distinguish between two types of panels: those starting with "Edge_*" have their edge at the top, while those beginning with "Corner_*" feature a corner at the top (consult the accompanying images for clarification).
