1000 Lake Shore Plaza stands 590ft (180m) tall as a skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois. Completed in 1964 with 55 floors, the building was designed by Sidney Morris and ranks as the 47th tallest in Chicago. When finished, it held the title of world's tallest reinforced concrete structure, but the Tour de la Bourse in Montreal completed that same year stole the show. The tower remained Chicago's highest balcony-equipped building until the Park Tower took its place in 1999.
