Calibrating your extruder is a must to get prints the perfect size. First, place this gadget on the filament 10mm above the extruder and mark both ends. Next, heat up your printer to operating temperature. Manually push out material until the bottom mark meets the extruder, then have your printer control software immediately start pushing out 100mm of material in 20mm segments, pausing briefly between each segment.
