10 mm watch strap and buckle
thingiverse
This is a remix of my previous remix of Laird's watch strap and Lindsay Fowler's buckle, with some key improvements added to make it even better. I attached a latch to give it an extra layer of functionality, and used a piece of 1.75mm filament for the pin on the buckle. I've clipped my original 20mm wide strap down to 10mm, while keeping its thin profile intact - only 1mm thick. For printing suggestions, please refer to my previous 20mm version; the pictures show the strap being printed at a layer height of .10 mm, but clearly reveal some calibration issues that could be avoided by printing at the coarsest quality possible as long as the filament loops around the pinholes. Check out this link for more details: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2867440 Update 13.10.18: I've added a split version of the buckle, which I prefer to print and then glue together using superglue afterwards. This method has held up amazingly well on my previous watch strap, withstanding daily use for six months now. This design is specifically tailored for a ladies' watch, but unfortunately, the long strap may be too long for its intended wearer - it'll either need to be cut to size or edited in software and reprinted. Out of curiosity, I printed the ring in PLA, eager to see how it would hold up under wear. The good news is that my 20mm version has been worn daily for six months now, and it still works perfectly and remains strong.
