10 Minute Mini Calibration Test for Oozing/Retraction at Different Distances

10 Minute Mini Calibration Test for Oozing/Retraction at Different Distances

What is it? This test and calibration model for printing is incredibly compact. Its goal is to show whether material sticks well to the bed and reveal if oozing occurs over various distances. What is the purpose of this test? The main objective was to design a tiny yet effective calibration test that saves both time and material, providing useful results on retraction and printing quality without including unnecessary tests. Why was it made this way? I wanted to create a quick check to verify if printing results are acceptable, addressing issues like temperatures and oozing, which will resolve most problems. However, adjusting settings and reprinting will be time-consuming and frustrating. I discovered a mini-test on Thingiverse, but it lacked testing over variable distances. What does this test include? After several reworks, my model now has the following features: It can be printed in under 10 minutes (dependent on printer speed). Only 0.67g of material is used. Oozing results are shown at distances of 10, 20, 30, and 40 mm. Retraction settings can be checked to determine if they are too low or too high. If too low, oozing/stringing occurs; if too high, towers and printed numbers have poor quality. The first layer's shape is clean and defined with no string/layer issues, indicating good bed adhesion. Print Settings: Printer: Flashforge Creator Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20%
