10 Inch Compound Miter Saw Handle
thingiverse
Several years ago, I read posts on message boards asking for information about purchasing a new handle for their 10 inch Harbor Freight chop saw. There are replacement handles available for some saws, but not those with the mounting bolts that run horizontal. I realized that I owned one with a broken handle as well. I decided to create a 3D printed handle replacement for myself. I did not share the design at that time because, I wanted to make sure it was rugged enough and durable for storage and use under year round garage conditions. I have been using this new handle on my chop saw for 2 years now, while storing it at temperatures as high as 100 degrees F and as low as - 30 F (It gets that cold here in Idaho). The handle still works fine. There are over 1 million of these saws sold. Still, no replacement handle is available. It is now time to get this out to the world. Note: This was tested on a Harbor Freight Item #91995 ten inch compound miter saw manufactured by Chicago Electric Power Tools. You will need the original hardware plus the following: 2 each 1.25” ¼ – 20 countersink bolt (1” + head length) 1 each 1.75” ¼ – 20 hex head bolt 1 each ¼” washer 2 each ¼ – 20 cap nuts (These protect your fingers when using the saw) 8 each 2” #6 – 32 pan head screws 8 each #6 washers 2 each 1.75” #8 – 32 pan head screws 2 each #8 washer
