A 10 by 2 Lego piece proves itself quite handy at holding things together on top, however, it can get a bit loose there. In contrast, the bottom side doesn't perform as well due to the added supports which make it quite tight. Despite this, once those supports are removed and you use it with other Legos, the bottom will start to mold in and function much better.
