I have created a 3D model of the stunning "Stella Maris" building to showcase another of Italy's numerous artistic treasures found within its borders. The Stella Maris is an historic airplane-shaped building constructed in 1939 by architects Leone and Liguori, situated in the municipality of Montesilvano, Pescara province, within the region of Abruzzo. This seaside resort area is just a few meters from the sea and serves as a holiday destination. My model is meticulously faithful to the original structure in every aspect, scaled at 1/100, meaning each centimeter corresponds to a meter in reality. To make printing feasible with common 3D printers, I divided the entire structure into sections and further subdivided them into individually printable components with maximum dimensions ranging from 15 to 19 cm. Before proceeding with printing the parts, I noticed that within the "CURA" program (the reason for this remains unclear), the parts appear in reduced dimensions. To rectify this issue, a tenfold enlargement is necessary. This publication includes two sections of six: the ground floor and stairs. All other sections will follow subsequently, as the drawing has been completed but divided into parts suitable for 3D printing. The base of the entire model measures approximately 80 x 60 cm, requiring an adequate support plane for assembling the various components. In my first section, I will present the entirety of the ground floor and stairs of the building. Subsequently, I will continue working on publishing all remaining sections. In 1936, they presented the project under the banner of hygiene and order. The "climatic holiday colony" served as a testing ground for designers in the 1930s, completed within nine months, and inaugurated on September 10, 1939. The building's symmetry identifies the clear distribution of various environments: at ground level, the pillars separate the airplane wings, creating a vast shaded area that connects to external spaces. At its center stands an impressive spiral staircase supported by a cylindrical pillar and topped with radial beams. The "torrino" is a cylindrical element located between the two wings, housing the commander's apartment.
