1 Kg Spool holder (hatchbox)
thingiverse
! Kg Spool Holder, specifically designed for Hatchbox 1 kg spools, will also work with most other spools. It can hold a spool up to three inches wide and should fit most with a diameter of nine inches or less. Printing is required: four assembly pieces, two top halves, one bottom half, and one spool rod. A circular object like a pencil can replace the spool rod if desired. The designer used hot glue and black and orange PLA for assembly. This design suits smaller printers due to division into separate pieces. As it's version one, some design flaws might still exist; they will be addressed as needed. Print Settings Printer M3D Micro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Medium Infill: Hollow with Thick Walls Notes: Approximately ten hours of printing was required. Roughly 450 inches of PLA were used, not including the spool rod (estimated to be around 550 inches). Post-Printing Assembly Following completion of the prints, a total of seven or eight pieces will result (eight if a spool rod is included). Two top halves should be glued to either side of the bottom half using assembly pins as supports. Note that assembly pins were slightly modified in size due to PLA's tendency to expand.
