To make a mark on material that needs cutting, you'll want to score halfway through a 1-inch PVC pipe. Why settle for easily making a small cut on the pipe to create a template when that can be done in a flash? Creating a tracing template this way doesn't allow for much creativity or fun. A better option would be to make a bevelled template so you can fit any sharpie in it and mark out a nice 1/2 inch semi-circle wherever you need it, effortlessly. This template also comes with three depressions that provide comfortable finger and thumb support while marking. Plus, it's flat enough to fit perfectly inside a dremel box.
